Stories

Rich was drafted into the U.S. Army in June, 1968 and received advanced training as a combat engineer at Fort Leonard Wood. He served as a construction specialist with the 20th Engineer Brigade near Dau Tieng, Vietnam. Rich served his country until February 1970 returning to the area to work for Preway, the Feed Mill and many years of fieldwork with his best friend, Jack. He married JoAnne Altmann in 1995. In 2002 he proudly opened Rich's Chainsaw Sales & Service in Rudolph. He was very talented at repairing used chainsaws and any small engines. He was a member of American Legion Post 485 and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 101. Richard passed away on July 2nd, 2020. Missing Rich are his wife, Joanne; his brothers, sisters and numerous nieces and nephews and inlaws.
