Stories

John Adolph Fischer
World War I was a war that was called the forgotten war. After WWII passed, that became the war everyone remembered. As we look back at that war, we understand just how significant it was for the U.S.A. Over 100,000 American soldiers died for their country. One of these heroic men was Corporal John Adolph Fischer.

John Fischer was born in 1909 in the small city of Marshfield, Wisconsin. He was a veteran of the Mexican border control campaign. He was deployed to France as part of the famous Company A, 127th infantry unit. Corp. Fischer was a survivor, being wounded once in action, when he was shot in the arm in August. He recovered and returned to the front line. John was wounded a second time, however this wound took Corp Fischer's life. Corp Fischer died on October 15, 1918, of wounds received in action.

John Adolph Fischer was just one of many heroic men and women that left their lives in the states, and fought and died for our country. It is our duty as Americans to remember the brave men and women of our military who gave their lives to preserve our freedom. This war was over shadowed by WWII and the veterans with it. Not any more. We cannot forget a war that happened and took our American brothers and sisters. We can not.
