Private William W. Arnett, served and protected in World War I. William was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin in 1889, and moved to Marshfield with his parents as a young boy. When he joined the army, he was a member of Company A, 127th Division. When William was in France, his death was a complete accident. He was riding on a train and as the train was going, he fell off the train.

He was in Alsace when he passed away and he was buried in Sureshes, France. Just a couple of months ahead of him, his brother George Arnett was killed on his way to France.
