Robert Lamb was born in Plainfield, Wisconsin on the 7th of May in 1925 to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lamb.
Private Robert Lamb graduated from Plainfield High School. He was very athletic during his years there and especially excelled at basketball. After high school, Lamb worked at the Wisconsin Valley Creamery Company. During the winter of 1942-1943, Robert Lamb played with the Prentiss-Webers basketball team in the Wisconsin Rapids City Cage League. Private Robert Lamb entered the armed forces on the 13th of October in 1943. Lamb was first sent to Fort McClellan in Alabama, where he spent almost 4 months. After that he went to Fort Ord in California, where he remained until a little after Easter. After Private Robert Lamb went to Fort Ord he was assigned to go to the Hawaiian Islands and then finally to the Central Pacific where he served in the Infantry.
Private Robert Lamb was killed in action on the 25th of June during the United States invasion of the Saipan Island, according to a war department telegram which was received by his parents, then living at 341 Franklin Street in Wisconsin Rapids. Robert Lamb was only 19 years old when he died.
