Lt. Col. Dennis M. Johnson
9/11 Victim at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
You are forever Loved

Lt. Col Dennis M. Johnson was born an April 1, 1953, in Wisconsin Rapids, the first child of Robert and Elva Johnson. His parents live in Port Edwards in the same house Dennis lived in as a child.

They are lucky to always have the memories of him growing up in that house.

Dennis was a graduate of John Edwards High School, Port Edwards, and captain of the football team. His wife Joyce Johnson, tells that Dennis played basketball in college; he loved sports and the outdoors very much. He had a strong love for the Green Bay Packers, and sci-fi books as well as movies and TV shows such as Star Trek.

Dennis was a quiet man with a dry sense of humor. There was always a sparkle in his eyes that would let you know he was up to something, his wife Joyce always said. Johnson’s life was a blessing to all of his friends and family.

Dennis was assigned to the Army Staff at the Pentagon when disaster struck. On September 11, 2001, Dennis was killed when a hijacked jetliner crashed into the Pentagon. He was 48 years old at the time of his death. According to the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune, his remains were recovered and buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Dennis will be remembered and loved by many.

Thank you for risking and giving your life for our country.
