Stories

In November of 1910 the Mexican Revolution began. Of course the Americans sent in troops to help out and among those soldiers were Sgt. Henry Schielz. Originally from Marshfield, Schielz worked as a plumber, employed by his brother-in-law August Sean. He joined the Army during the time of the Mexican Revoltion to help out. Many men like him joined the fight for Mexico's independence. Henry was born in the year 1885, the day is not exact. He had two sisters and two brothers, one of whom joined the army in New Hampshire. He was a part of Company A, 127th Inf, 32nd Div of Marshfield, WI.

When the Great War started, Henry was shipped off to France to help out. He fought bravely, but unfortunately Corp. Henry Schielz died of gunshot wounds on November 3, 1918, less than two weeks before the War was over. He never got to see how it turned out.
